Online Photo News (OPN) is my small initiation aiming to involve emerging Photojournalist, Students, Civil Society and Professional Photojournalist around the world to promote and develop the concept of Online Photo Journalism with a motto ‘Photo News From World as it Happens’.
As the world is becoming increasingly visual through the use of photos in social media, news sites and many more as a way to attain quick information about the lives of others, photojournalism plays this crucial role in the news and information. People want to know what is going on quickly and to get a proper visualization that includes feeling while still getting valuable information about the story or situation. Regular social media photos of news, happenings and events lack the authority and power of the message that a photojournalist can convey after learning their trade and having a talent for it. The photographs from a photojournalist can tell a story that no words can describe and more importantly convey the mood and the tone of a scene within seconds, providing a valuable resource for the average news seeker.
Whether you are an established, trainee, new comer, student or a citizen of any country, OPN gives a platform and the chance to change the way people see the world. There is an opportunity to show images and pictures that have never been shown before. So why not you be a Photojournalist and start capturing and present the images that shape the news. They are, above all, storytellers. Convey not only the story, but the emotions that go with it.
